Fire Sale

"Half a bottle of Johnny Walker will take anything down," groans Vince. "Yeah, especially when you mix it with half a bottle of vodka," grunts E. The episode begins with the boys in recovery mode after the ends of the disastrous Sweet 16 party, thanks Drama. The View has invited Drama go Vegas to appear on the show while Vince and E prepare for "General Meetings" with the studios.

Ari meets up with the boys at a studio and suddenly loves Nine Brave Souls new name, Smoke Jumpers. Ari is suddenly in love with it but E tells him the writers are committed to Ed Norton. "Did they sell the script ya, Cunt Face?" says Ari. "Not yet, Dick Head," E blasts back. "Well then it's still free ya overpaid, undersized bitch!" E is committed to letting Amanda sell the script for $100,000 over $300,000 meaning the writers get $100,000 up front and an additional $200,000 if the film gets made. However, now Vince and Ari's interest in Smoke Jumpers are making him question his loyalties and step back from the deal a bit.

Drama, Turtle and Shaua arrive at Caesar's Palace for The View and Drama quickly feels inadequate because all the other cast members brought their girlfriends. D'oh!

E tries to explain to his writers how films get made in Hollywood. That despite the fact that Ed Norton and Vince both want to do the script, it doesn't guaranty necessarily that the script will get made. It just doesn't work that way. The writers want to start a bidding war which Eric tells them is unlikely. Steve Parles the studio head tells Vince that he's not interested in him for Smoke Jumpers but is for Benji goes to Alaska. After they get outside, Parles calls back and informs Ari that he wants Smoke Jumpers but not with Vince attached. Ari tells him it's only available with Vince attached. Parles declines.

Ari tries to downplay Parles rejection but the boys can sense it. Ari tells him they want it but without him and Vince tells E to go ahead and sell the script. Ari overrides him and tells him to stall and he WILL sell the script for Vince.

On The View, Drama realizes he's been set up by his boys. He tries to explain how his relationship soured but he gets caught up in the emotion. He tells Jacqueline, in case she's watching, how he feels about her "Hey baby, I just want to say I'm sorry I was a little over protective..." Drama mopes and runs off the set.

E tries to stall with Amanda but she's not buying it. He tells her his writers want $500,000 and a guaranty the movie gets made. She tells him that's ridiculous. E tries to play coy and Amanda rips him a new one "If you wanna go and sell it to the first person with deep pockets for Vincent Chase be my guest. It'll be a piece of shit like the movie you guys made."

The last studio tells Vince Smoke Jumpers is too expensive to fiance with him in the lead making the boys 0-7. Vince is appalled that Ari can't try to spin his way out of their crappy luck. "Things are so bad you can't even spin it? (referring to them being 0-7) Try and spin it Ari." Vince concedes the lead to someone else and wants to play the second lead in the movie just to get it made.

Back at Miller Gold, Ari claims victory getting the $500,000 for the movie from Coors and Vince in the second lead. E tells the writers they got half a million plus Vince and Nick and LB and still not happy...they had their heart set on Ed Norton and even watched "American History X"...awwww. They begrudingly say they're happy. Geez.

Back at LAX, Drama gets sloshed in the limo and rips off his pants and throws them on a motorcycle cop...ugh! The boys and Shauna go to pick Drama up from jail. Amanda calls and tells E that Ed Norton is back and he's bringing studio money with him. This can't be good for Vince and the boys. E tells her he needs Vince as the second lead or he can't close. Amanda says the studio behind the offer is Warner Bros and Vince's enemy Alan Gray, thus there's no way in hell Vince will have anything to do with the project. "Tell your writers they have Ed Norton and a $2 million offer. I'm sure they'll wanna close."

The All Out Fall Out

With Drama still lamenting about his break up with Jaqueline, the boys go to see Vince's money manager, MARVIN, who tells them "You're not broke, you're bankrupt! You gotta file Chapter 11. You gotta wipe the slate clean and start all over again. And this time on a budget and without dependents!" What? No more entourage? Luckily, Vince doesn't listen to Marvin's advice but does heed his suggestion to call his PR Specialist Shauna to look into a client who may pay him an appearance fee.

Zac Efron's appendix blows and that's good news for Vince. A couple in Beverly Hills need Vince to make an appearance at their daughter's sweet sixteen party. It pays very well. "Let's make it a twofer Shauna," starts Drama " This way the Chase Brothers can wipe 'em out clean." After being told he's "Far from a Sweet 16ers wet dream," Drama retreats to sulk outside.

E gets word from Amanda that she's sending Nine Brave Souls to Ed Norton. Escalating the tension that is slowly mounting from Vince allowing Ari to talk him out of doing the movie. According the Ari, the movie would ruin Vince's career and probably sucked but of course he hasn't read it. E tells Ari that Amanda liked it but Ari's still not impressed.

The boys go to the Sweet 16 meet and are instructed to remove their shoes and of course, Drama refuses citing his recent break up. Mr Levine(Kevin Pollak) and Mrs Levine (Fran Drescher) tell Vince they're spending over $1 million on the party and they need him to do something flashy. They want him to dress like Aquaman and sit on an ice cube in a pool for five hours for $200,000. Vince's response? "Fuck that I'd rather be bankrupt. You know how you drive on GTA, Turtle?"

The boys retreat to a strip club and down drinks and dodge phone calls from Marvin. He forces a call through via Shauna and chastises them for ducking out on the appearance fee. Shauna has already handled it however. No ice cube and no Aquaman suit. Just Vince singing a song. $200,000. Boom! The boys are back in business.

Meanwhile, Ari's new anniversary gift of a red Ferrari prove too tempting for him as he engages, and loses a street race with rival agent Adam Davies. He loses an impromptu bet and he pays off by sending Davies $100 in a paper bag with a human turd. The police show up to arrest Ari for the crime of sending feces to Davies but they're not really cops...they're male stripper who interrupt Ari's meeting with Rapper T.I. by slanging their boners in his face. Poor Ari!

Ari decides to retaliate by sending a naked photo of Davie's girlfriend to hi via email. Davies calls back and appreciates Ari's attempt but he explains "I broke up with that whore 6 months ago. I'm fucking a Miami Heat cheerleader now." Davies isn't even phased but he's already sent Ari a nice little present. A naked pic of HIS WIFE from a little known piece of cinema "Hardbodies 3."

Ari flips and runs across the street back to Terrance's agency and calls Davies out in front of the everybody. Ari demands an apology from the sneering Davies or he will beat his ass in front of his entire dead beat agency. Davies snickers and Ari bitch slaps him. Davie's sneer disappears and his face turns to fear. He apologizes like a bitch in front of everybody.

At the Sweet 16 gig, the boys get sloshed and meet Candice the sweetie/slut of the party. The little bundle of joy tells her mom "Fuck you Mom I will go fuck this whole fucking party right now if I fucking want to!" Vince serenades Candice with "You're just too good to be true/ Can't take my eyes off of you/ you'd be like heaven to touch, I want to hold you so much." Drama, drunk off his ass, stumbles, slangs an arm around Vince and chimes in. E get s call from Amanda...Ed Norton loved the script and wants to do it, making it a studio film in the process...uh oh...that's exactly what Vince needed. They had it and let it get away. Drama finishes off the night by screaming "Can you hear me bitches?" before vomiting on the cake, horrifying the guests. Turtle sums up the sentiment perfectly to E. "I hope you got the money in advance."

Unlike A Virgin

Relationships.  That's what this episode was all about.  The forging of new ones, the death of existing ones and the re-kindling of old ones.

The episode opens with Vince on a reading warpath tearing through a pile of scripts looking for his next big hit  'studio' movie.  Unfortunately for Vince, three of the scripts he's selected to do are already in production with other actors, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Walhberg and Toby McGuire.  The fourth one he's picked out is an 'indie' film scribed by two no-names which quickly gets Vince and E a tongue lashing from Ari citing the 'indie' Medellin as the reason Vince's career has cooled off.  "No indies 'E'!  Think of it like the the holocaust, never again!" cries Ari.   Even though Vince is trying to forge a new relationship with himself and his career, being in 'movie jail' is making it tough.

At lunch, Vince runs into an old flame, the innocent looking Justine, who he never hooked up because she was a virgin.  She's a pop star and is in town doing a duet with the legendary Tony Bennett.  While E goes to hunt down LB and Nick, the writers of the indie script, Nine Brave Souls, the boys go to Justine's video shoot.  Drama obsesses over his time mis-management and lies to his girlfriend in Paris, Jacqueline because he can't bring himself to tell he he went to the video's wrap party instead of going home to 'tuck her in' on the computer.

E meets with the gun-toting, tobacco chewing no BS, in your face Nick and LB who scold E for being Vince's manager and not being able to get him for their script.  Nick demands E help them sell the script, he turns to Ari who tells him "We share one client E, we're never gonna share two!" Back at the video shoot, Vince isn't happy that Justine pawns him off on a friend.

Drama is upset because he can't get his girlfriend on the phone and figures maybe she could tell he was lying and went out to party in retaliation.  Turtle and a Party Hottie try to convince Drama that she's sleeping, but in typical Drama fashion he escalates his situation by needlessly calling Jacqueline back and screeching "Where the fuck are you?"

Vince has an epiphany after listening to Justine's friend ramble on.  The tarnishing of his career is also tarnishing his love life.  To get them both back, he has to take control, which he does by hopping in a cab and going to see Ari who levels with Vince that Medellin was bad and he was awful in it.  Vince asks if Ari thinks he's a good actor to which Ari gives the closest to 'no' that you'll ever hear from an agent.  Vince steels his resolve and tells Ari to send him out to anyone who will listen to him.

Drama kills his relationship with Jacqueline ranting like a lunatic on the phone "How could you do this to me?  6 months I've been nothing but faithful.  Do you have any idea how much p*ssy is thrown at me day and night?  And I pass on all of it so you can go around f*cking every French f***** who pays you a compliment?" Then Jacqueline picks up the phone, seems her friend had a car accident and she was at the hospital checking on her.  Oooops.  Damage is done.  "I had to call the police on my last boyfriend.  I don't want to have to call the police on you, good bye Johnny," she mutters.

Since E can't get help from Ari, he goes to an old friend for help, Vince's former agent Amanda, who he slept with and ruined their relationship.  E schmoozes her and she tells him to leave it agrees to read 5 pages which is five times the amount of help than Ari offered.

Vince returns to the party, blows past his escort and yanks Justine away from another guy.  He gives her the hard sell on why they should fool around.  She bites.  Vince and Justine hop in the car holding hands as Turtle and the Party Hottie hook up and Drama is left to console himself with a bottle Jack.

Fantasy Island

Ahhh...Entourage is finally back after almost a year. It feels good to have it back almost like meeting up with your best buddies you haven't seen in years.

We immediately see Eric and Drama paired together which is a switch from last season where almost every episode paired Vince and E and Drama and Turtle. Medellin is getting ripped a new one by Richard Roper "Oh by the way Vince, Al Pacino called, he wants his Scarface accent back". Ouch. But he's not done yet "I had Vinny Chase on my list of stars to watch in 2005 I think I'm going to have him on my list of stars to watch fade in 2008".

Which pretty much sums up this episode and seemingly the season to come. The once mighty Vince Chase and his Entourage have been taken down a peg after the disastrous 'Hindenburg of a screening' in the finale of last season and the straight to DVD release of Medellin. Drama tries to console E and we see he's 'ichat-ing' with his doe-eyed French girlfriend Jacqueline. It's good to see Drama maintain some type of relationship with a woman even if it's long distance and includes 'bird noises'.

When producer Carl Ertz calls and seemingly offers Vince a chance at redemption (he's got a good script and will pay Vince his full quote) Ari springs into action by calling 'Bea Arthur' at the Murphy Group and interrupting a meeting between E and Charlie (Bow Wow). In the over 6 months that has passed (Entourage time) seems E has expanded his client list to include Vince, Charlie and a third yet unrevealed client. Upon hearing that Ertz wants to pay Vince his full rate, E as well springs into action highlighting the growing similarities between E and Ari. Would the E from season one or two have jumped to pull Vince out of seclusion to work on a film? Of course not, he'd be right by his side enjoying or at least watching as Turtle puts it 'The Parade of P*ssy'.

And this is where we find Vince. Tucked away in Mexico on a secluded beach that time has forgotten. Vince has never been one to let business get in the way of the pursuit of happiness and this is no different. Sexy groupies. Beautiful beach with clear blue agua (and it's really Hawaii not Mexico who cares) good food and good times. Even Turtle is getting laid. It's a simple existence that defines who Vince is at heart.

Drama who has played the prima donna role once again and shut down a network photo shoot after refusing to be photographed from his 'bad side' his right side (the one that scares teen aged girls!) for a Five Towns promotional poster . With Ben Silverman the chairman of NBC coming to seemingly force Drama's hand, Drama bails in an instant telling Silverman to "Shoot me however you want," after E informs him his baby bro' needs his help. He leads them straight to Vince and after a pep talk from E, Vince and the boys are back together.

Back in Los Angeles, Vince attends his meeting with Ertz at the Ivy (the place to see and be seen by the Hollywood elite). Two agents snort "Look, Vincent Chase. I thought he was dead. Only until he's alive again the other replies" he turns to reveal himself as one of Ari's numerous enemies, the sniveling Adam Davies. Davies approaches Ertz after he sees Vince meeting with him and is brushed off with the 'Guess I'll talk to you soon'. Indeed. Davies calls Ari to reveal Vince has been set up. Ertz doesn't want Vince, he wants Emile Hirsch who is repped by Davies and he wants him for $2 million dollars less than Davies wanted to close for. "Explain to your client that you dragged him back here for nothing" Davies snarls. "I'm going to skull f*ck you Davies" Ari blares "You just DID, Ari" says Davies. Welcome back Vince.

Vince re-commits himself to getting his 'A' list status back. "I thought you didn't care what people think?" E inquires. "I care a little," Vince explains. But the boys can't let Ertz get away with playing them. It's payback time. Under the cover of darkness, Drama and Turtle embark on a mafia style hit to nail Ertz where it really hurts...his high priced motor fleet. "I 'm gonna golf and you're gonna caddy," proclaims Drama as they slip out of their stealth black Cadillac truck ready to bash up one of Erzt's cars. Turtle hands Drama a golf club and he goes on a line drive for a maroon Maserati. "The Maserati, really?" Drama reconsiders and bashes the less expensive Mercedes instead. He then leaves a frozen fish on the hood as the alarm squeals. "What are you, the Godfather?" Turtle asks. "Aquaman is back," Drama proclaims.
